Now and then it looks like politics
But chase it to its source, it's
Theology that's at the core of most
every world

Not chained to a mystic's dictums
That provide a brief respite
And let me rest for a week or a night

Then again out there I try to wake
The minds of people who are subjuga-
ted by smuggling wondrous things that make them blink
And maybe pause, and maybe think...
But it's exciting...

If I keep on--I really ought
To hang it up and let things run their

But I can't bring myself to let it go--
All those people chained by lies--and so
I take my chances, and hope that I don't
Make things bad or worse

The life they live, and--win or loose--
It's not for any mystic
To make Science wrong or septic

So I help by proving dogma wrong
With simple things that once belonged
To folks that live from day to day
Upon these worlds that have lost their way...
